The American Extended-Wear Cosmetics Association (A.E.W.C.A.) is a board of medical professionals that reviews the safety and quality/performance of products such as cosmetic tattoo pigments, lash extension adhesives and removers, and sunless tanning products. Cosmetic products like these, which are worn on the skin or hair for extended periods of time, are tested for the presence of ingredients that can be harmful to the health of both consumers and the professionals who work with them.
